PHOENIX, December 20, 2018 – Two members of the Board of HELP Inc., the non-profit provider of the truck weigh station bypass system PrePass, have been named to the American Transportation Research Institute’s (ATRI) Research Advisory Committee (RAC) for 2019-2021.
The HELP board members are Collin Stewart, president and CEO of Phoenix, Arizona-based Stewart Transport and Jaime Maus, vice president of safety and compliance at Werner Enterprises, based in Omaha, Nebraska. Stewart and Maus are their states’ private sector representatives to the HELP Board. The ATRI Board of Directors also announced that HELP CEO Karen Rasmussen was reappointed to a two-year term as chair of the RAC.
ATRI is a not-for-profit organization that conducts transportation research, with an emphasis on the trucking industry’s essential role in a safe, efficient and viable transportation system. RAC members represent a broad cross-section of trucking industry stakeholders including motor carriers, industry suppliers, driver organizations, shippers, academia and government.
“The diversity of the RAC provides unique perspectives on the key issues confronting freight movement in the United States,” Rasmussen said. “Because ATRI’s work often touches on HELP’s mission of safety, we appreciate the opportunity to have input into determining ATRI’s research agenda, while also giving back to the trucking industry and our government partners,” Rasmussen said.
