PHOENIX, Feb. 20, 2017 – PrePass recently expanded its tolling services for PrePass Plus and PrePass Tolls Only customers in Texas tolling facilities operated by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), the North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) and the Harris County Toll Road Authority (HCTRA). The expanded PrePass service provides commercial drivers and fleets consolidated billing and toll cost savings as part of the nationwide network.
“Tolling is often seen as an inconvenience as it can cause delays and decrease productivity,” said Karen Rasmussen, President and CEO of HELP Inc., providers of PrePass. “With the additional Texas agencies, PrePass customers receive the benefits through our network of tolling authorities including TxTag, E-ZPass, K-Tag, SunPass, PikePass, Fastrak, EZ Tag and TollTag.”
Drivers avoid long plaza lines and save time by not waiting or stopping to pay tolls. Use of PrePass Plus or PrePass Tolls Only transponders not only save fleets valuable time, but they also help conserve fuel by limiting idle time. PrePass provides access to discounted electronic toll fees, streamlined invoicing that eliminates the need for receipt collection and management of multiple accounts, and hassle-free toll management to aid in disputed toll reconciliation.
“The expansion of PrePass tolling services in Texas provides our members and commercial transporters the ability to consolidate billing from multiple toll providers included with the PrePass weigh station bypass service,” said John Exparza, President and CEO of Texas Trucking Association (TXTA). “TXTA promotes a safe, dependable and cost-effective motor transportation system in Texas and PrePass helps us accomplish this goal.”
PrePass is the only service that combines weigh station bypassing and electronic toll payment services with a single transponder. Transponder RFID technology is the most reliable and secure platform for remote communication of sensitive data. The PrePass transponder is interoperable with the network of tolling authorities nationally. The U.S. Department of Transportation also selected this platform for connected and autonomous vehicles based on signal reliability and data security.
There is no automatic enrollment for the additional coverage in Texas. PrePass Plus customers must opt in to the expanded services. To become eligible, a designated representative must complete an authorization form. Forms are obtained by contacting PrePass customer service via phone at 1-800-773-7277 or by email at support@prepass.com.
